Use your newly acquired dance skills on outings organized by Toronto Dance ™. Also watch TV shows such as Dancing With The Stars, watch dance competitions, and watch live shows such as Burn The Floor, FloorPlay, and Dirty Dancing.

Watch "So You Think You Can Dance Canada" TV Show weekly 2008-09-11 to 12-04

Canada finally gets a spin-off of the extremely popular show "So You Think You Can Dance (USA)" (4 seasons). It premieres on Thu Sep 11 8:00-10:00pm on CFTO.

The auditions occured in various cities such as Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, and Montreal. Through the auditions, the top 20 (10 men and 10 women are chosen).

Outing for Latin-Ballroom students Fri 2008-11-21

There is an official outing Fri Nov 21 to Westway Club for Latin-Ballroom students at all levels. This is your end-of-term dance outing. Please check your emails for details.

Westway Club is located on 291 Evans St - please for a map. It starts at 8:00pm. The discounted cost is $13 including a light hot meal approx 10:00pm. Dress code applies - no jeans or T-shirts. Check your emails for your invitation. You need to be on a Toronto Dance list to get the discount.

There was a Jive performance by Toronto Dance performance team.

Watch "Dancing With The Stars" TV Show weekly 2008-09-22 to 11-25

This extremely popular show (season 7) premieres with a 3-night event on Mon Sep 22 8:00-9:30pm on CFTO. The second episode will be Tue Sep 24 8:00-9:30pm with the first results show premiering on Wed Sep 25 8:00-9:00pm.

Watch Canadian champions perform Fri 2008-10-31

There is an outing Fri Oct 31 to watch a few Latin-Ballroom Canadian champions perform. The location is at Century Palace (Steeles and Warden). It runs 7:00pm to midnight. The events are:

6:00pm Doors open
7:00pm Dance lesson
7:30pm Dinner
9:00pm Entertainment:
- 3 Canadian Champion couples and one 3rd-place couple
- Fashion show
- Line dancing
- General dancing

The maximum capacity is 350 people.

The 4 performing couples are:

Kamil and Katya: 3-time Adult Canadian Latin Champions (dancing Latin)
Richard and Claire: Youth Canadian Ballroom Champions (dancing Ballroom)
Winston and Anna: 3-time Youth Canadian 10-Dance Champions (dancing Latin)
Daniel and Sarah: Adult 3rd-place Ballroom and 10-Dance Champions (dancing Ballroom)
and a surprise couple

Latin-Ballroom Congress/Workshops Sat-Sun 2008-09-20/21

Chuan Chee and Iryna Iaremchuk, Toronto Dance instructors are teaching at this 2-day event. There are workshops in Latin, Ballroom, Salsa, and Swing. On Sat evening, there is a dinner, dance, and show.

Watch "Baby Ballroom" TV Show weekly Sat/Sun 2008-02-16 to 03-02

This is a new 3-part series from the UK featuring 14 pairs of kids (10-12 years old). It is aired weekly for 3 weeks on Bravo (Rogers cable 40):

The Grammy-nominated Peru Negro's high-energy show is a festival of dance interwoven with vibrant live music, and passionate voices re-creating Peru's African folkloric history.

Watch "IDSF World Latin Championships" on TV Mon 2008-01-07

The "IDSF World Latin Championships" is a competition where some of the world's best ballroom dancers to compete for the prestigious 2007 IDSF Championship. The competition features the five dances of the Latin American section (Samba, Cha Cha Cha, Rumba, Paso Doble, Jive).

It is on the Bravo channel. In Toronto, it can be seen on Rogers cable 40, 9:00-10:00pm.

Watch "Dancing With The Stars season 5 Tour" Mon 2008-01-07

Several DWTS celebrities and professionals are on tour again, 2007-12-18 to 2008-02-10. It is in Toronto on Sat 2008-01-07 noon at the Air Canada Centre (ACC). Performing are Wane Newton, Cheryl Burke, Sabrina Bryan, Mark Ballas, Joey Lawrence, Edtya Sliwinska, Monique Coleman.

Watch "Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann" TV Show weekly Mon 2008-01-07

There is a new dance reality competition show. Bruno and Carrie Ann have a team of coaches and choreographers. They chose contestants who can both dance and sing to join their respective teams.

Tonioli and Inaba will then teach their respective teams new routines from numerous dance styles. Once the teams start performing, home viewers will have the opportunity to vote whether Tonioli or Inaba's Dance War team did better each week. The losing coach will then have to eliminate a member of his or her troupe based on viewer votes.

Instead of airing weekly performance and results shows, Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann will -- similar to how ABC handled Dancing with the Stars' first season -- broadcast voting results at the beginning of each week's episode.

DWTS' second-season celebrity champ Drew Lachey will host the show which is scheduled to air six live 1.5-hour episodes this winter.
