Movie: "Shall We Dance?" starting 2004-10-15

There is a new movie called "Shall We Dance?" out Oct 15. This is an English-language remake of the 1996 Japanese movie of the same title. Filming started 2003-06-23 in Winnipeg. The movie was original coming out Aug 6 but it was delayed. Premise: An overworked Chicago accountant John Clark (Richard Gere), tired of the boring routine that his life has become, sees a beautiful dance teacher Paulina (Jennifer Lopez) through a window and decides to start taking lessons from her in order to get to know her better, and as the joy of dancing enters his life, he discovers that it might just be the secret to saving his troubled marriage (wife Susan Sarandon). As the accountant's skill as a dancer improves, he eventually signs up for the Chicago Crystal Ball Dance Competition.

Movie Outing: "Shall We Dance?" Sat 2004-10-16

If any Toronto Dance students would like to see this movie with us at a movie theatre on Sat Oct 16 7:10pm show, please contact us. We will go to the SilverCity Yonge and Eglinton.

Outing report: We had 18 Toronto Dance students and 5 guests for a total of 23. After the movie, 18 of us went to a nice dessert place to socialize. The movie was reasonable but the original 1996 Japanese version was better. We plan to show this movie to Toronto Dance students in November.
